Villages "a drive/ride away"

The municipal area of Sedella is bounded by the River Rubite, a tributary of the River Vélez, and the border with Granada Province. Streams from numerous springs in the nearby Tejeda and Almijara sierras irrigate the land, a hilly area where olives, almonds and grapes and the usual crops grown. The village is 62 kilometres from Málaga and 32 kilometres from Vélez Málaga. The village stands at a height of 689 metres above sea level.

Periana is situated 58 kilometres from Malaga and 23 kilometres from Velez-Malaga at an altitude of 547 metres above sea level. The village is backed by mountains, the highest point being Mount Umbria and the sierras of Carrion and Pinto. The land below the village sweeps down to the shores of lake Vinuela. The village has all necessary facilities including shops, banks, health centre, schools and swimming pool.

The historic village of Comares is perched high on a mountain affording spectacular views of the Axarquia, its houses clinging to the hillside, once an important strategic and military enclave. The summit of these heights is presided over by the ruins of a Moorish fortress. Today this pretty white-washed village is a popular tourist haunt with its narrow cobbled streets and breathtaking scenery. Comares is situated at a height of 720 meters, 35 kilometres from Malaga and 24 from Velez-Malaga.
